I am a regular visitor to Paul, and the JBR in particular given views etc. I love the breakfast and the breads and pasteries.
Despite being a regular today I had a DISASTER. I asked for the poached eggs on white toast for our 3yr old. The waitress looked blank but didn't clarify. What arrived was clearly an adult's meal of poached eggs, apsaragus etc etc..we sent it back for just plain poached eggs on toast for our 3 yr old..we were very polite about this.
This alone took a good 25 minutes before our replacement arrived. It looked good and was what we ordered. My 3 year old was munching happily on it when I noticed a brownish/greenish liquid on the underside of the egg. I looked at it and it could only have been spit (phlegm). I took the plate and noticed the underside of the white toast was coated in brownish fibre (don't know but looked like it had been rubbed on the floor).
At no point did we have a problem with the kitchen staff, merely the incompetent waitress, and even then we were polite. But to have our 3 yr old's food contaminated is despicable. The manager was embarrassed and obviously gave us the food for free, but I will be taking this further. The waitress knew this was for a 3 yr old! DISGUSTING

I don't understand all the negative comments on here. I have been to Paul's for Breakfast and an evening meal. Both have been excellent, service has been very good and prompt on both occasions.
I would highly recommend it.

BIG NEWS FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR AND NOT GO TO PAUL'S JBR ANYMORE -
Two of us went over a week ago for breakfast after the beach. I had never been there for breakfast before. We ordered 2 breakfast deals that were in a square on the top of the menu.. omelet, croissant, coffee.. and we said 'we want this offer and this offer thank you' and closed the menu giving it back, and started chatting.
The filipino waitress asked us 'What would you like with your omelet?' So I went a bit blank and then asked for mushrooms/tomato/cheese. She saw that I didn't really know what to say but she didn't clarify a word! So the food arrived, we ate and ordered the bill. We found 20 dirhams extra added on our bill. We told them there is a mistake in our bill. The waitress answered 'You asked for extras on your omelet'. We said 'NO we didn't know they were EXTRAS! You didn't inform us and didn't say the word extra to us!' She bluntly denied that and said she did say it when she didn't. We asked for the manager and refused to pay the extra cost due to her lack of communication and service. And it was about the moral of the whole story, not the dhs. 20 per say. Actually, for others who cannot afford to pay more than the set deal, she's going to cause these people trouble creating this misunderstanding!
Anyway, listen to this!!!! Then the manager came, WHAT A DISASTER this man was!!! He should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY! Lebanese guy called Wassim G. He walked arrogantly and rudely towards us saying in a mean/sarcastic tone: 'What's your problem?'. I ignored his tone at first and explained that we were asked what we wanted WITH our omelet after we closed the menu and gave it in, not what EXTRA'S do we want on the omelet! He insisted that she told us the word EXTRA for sure. I replied: 'How would you know when you weren't even here? She clearly made a mistake no saying it.' He replied extremely rudely in tone with a horrid facial expression: 'Well I believe HER!' I got furious of course!!! I told him: 'Are you calling me a lier?' He smiled and repeated that he believed HER. This man should be fired with no hesitation! He is not fit to be a manager and speak to customers like that! He should have handled the situation with respect and etiquette as all managers do in F&B, but he CLEARLY has none and is a LOW STANDARD human being. How dare he call me a lier indirectly like that?! Next time he will call anyone of YOU out there a lier too! This is ridiculous! I will NEVER go to Paul's again as long as he is working there. He should be fired! Both him and his waitress. Service is everything. If he cannot speak nicely with respect to customers, he shouldn't be in the Hospitality business!
It wasn't about the money, it was about the lack of communication from the waitress who didn't do her job and lied to us! And I am COMPLAINING because I cannot sit back and accept to be spoken with such rudeness and be humiliated in public like that and let him carry on doing it for sure to others as well. No one should be treated like that. I hope to God that management reads this and gets RID of this manager Wassim G. in JBR location. Unfortunately I don't remember the waitresses name. SHAME ON THEM BOTH! I left shaking with anger. No customer should have to go through that!
